How can we help?

If you need help using this website, the following questions are designed to help you.

What is brighterfuturestogether.co.uk?

Brighterfuturestogether.co.uk is a website set up by the Sustainable Communities North East Initiative (SCNEI). It aims to help people across North East England to create sustainable communities where they live. The website is divided into 6 sections, including the front page of the site.  Access to each section can be found at the top of every page on the left hand side.

The website provides a brief history of the SCNEI, its partnership, what sustainable development means, what sustainable communities are, and what we can all do here in the north east to help.  Within the site there is a wealth of information that relates to what communities can do to make a difference and create sustainable communities where they live.

How do I get involved with the initiative?

The SCNEI would like to hear from community groups and from individuals (who represent a community group) on what information should be covered in the SCNEI’s forthcoming Brighter Futures Together toolkit. To help the SCNEI to create the new Brighter Futures Together toolkit you can submit your ideas through an online form (LINK). Simply fill out the form as best you can and press the submit button. Alternatively, if you can not access the online form, hard copies are available by contacting the SCNEI directly on:

Tel – 0191 497 8463

Or by writing to:
SCNEI
C/O Association of North East Councils
The Axis Building, Maingate
Kingsway North, Team Valley
Gateshead

NE11 0NQ

Where and how can I tell the SCNEI about my community group’s local sustainability projects?

The SCNEI will be building a collection of the regions’ great community projects over the next year.  If you have a successful, sustainability related community project that you want to tell the region about you can submit your project to the SCNEI by filling out an on-line projects submission form (LINK).  Simply fill out the form and press the submit button.  Do try to answer all the questions as best you can. Alternatively, if you cannot access the online form, contact us.

Where can I report a page or link that does not work?

Should you come across a page or link that does not work properly please let us know.  You can do this simply by clicking on to the report a dead link link (this can be found at the left hand side of any page on the website).  Alternatively, if you can not access the online form, contact us.

I can not find what I am looking for on the site.  What can I do?

If you're looking for something specific, you can use the search box at the top right hand side of each page. You can also search there for specific projects or factsheets that will help you and your group to carry out projects.

Is there a website translation service available for non English speaking people, or a service available on the site for people with special accessibility requirements?

If people want to use the website and their first language is not English, they can translate the website contents by using Google or InterTran.
For those people wishing to request the toolkit or online forms etc, Braille documents can be printed on request. Please contact us with your requirements.
For people with visual impediments, the website uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for layout and styling. This set up allows the reader to override the settings in their browser, to change the appearance of our fonts, backgrounds, colours, links etc. LINK (can we describe how they do this?)
